June Update Letter

“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” John 14:20

Dear Partners; June 2008

May has been so exciting with those who have come to Christ, special held prayer meetings, the ministry of the Prayer Tent at the Maui Swap Meet and the wonderful experience of touring the international headquarters of Samaritans Purse, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Billy Graham Library.

I had been invited to fly from Maui to Charlotte NC to speak to the hundreds of BGEA staff members. As most of you know I have had the privilege of appearing in many of Billy Graham’s early motion pictures. They were shown not only in churches but in theaters throughout the U.S. and many countries around the world. With a few of the films, I made personal appearances in theaters, TV and radio interviews and had press conferences in which I was able to share the Gospel.

On my trip I missed one of my connections in San Francisco, but God had a reason. On the next flight I sat next to a charming couple. The wife Amy sat beside me while the husband Tyler, was seated on the other side. He plugged in his headphones to his laptop while Amy and I chatted. She told me they were returning from a trip to San Francisco to see their week old nephew. They live in Charlotte. I told here the purpose of my trip as I shared the love of God and what He had done in my life. After a few scriptures I asked her if she would like to know Jesus in a personal way and she said; “oh yes’. After she prayed to receive Jesus, I took from my purse a little book, “Steps to Peace with God” and went through it with her to explain what she had done. I showed here the place to sign her name and write the date she had given her life to Christ. Then she said; “I am going to share this with Tyler tonight.”

Then there was Ray, a young man who had just graduated from college. He was questioning what life is all about. What is his real purpose, what direction should he go? As we talked I told him that God has a purpose and plan for his life, to prosper him, to give him hope and a future. God only wanted Ray to put his trust in Him, to know Jesus, who said: “ I am the way, the truth, and the life..” After he prayed and asked Christ to be his Savior and Lord, he said, “ I feel a peace I’ve never known before”. He thanked me and kissed me on the cheek as we parted.

There are other stories, but I must tell you how thrilling it was to meet and spend time with Franklin Graham who has marvelously taken leadership and is the president of both BGEA and Samaritans Purse. He told me of the trucks being loaded with supplies for the victims of the China earthquake. Because of his recent trip to China he was able to make arraignments quickly allowing the 747 full of materials to leave in only 2 days.

It was wonderful to see Paul Saber, the COO of BGEA, and meet so many people serving Christ in these global ministries.

How can I thank you enough for your love, your prayers and your support as we together make known the love of Christ to the world.

In His boundless love,

Georgia Lee
